Your Path to Stable Housing

The Homeward Bound program is Do Good On Purpose’s housing pipeline, designed to guide individuals step by step from homelessness into lasting stability and, ultimately, homeownership.

Each stage provides safe housing, support services, and accountability while participants engage in the HumanKind Helps pathway, logging Mortgage Credit Hours through approved volunteer service.

From Here Onward Homeless Shelter

For individuals in immediate crisis, the From Here Onward Homeless Shelter offers safe, sober, and dignified short-term housing. This shelter provides case management, meals, and connections to health and recovery services.

It is the first bridge out of homelessness, preparing participants to enter Starter Village and begin the structured pathway forward.

Starter Village

Starter Village is a gated transitional community where residents live in pods for up to six months while beginning their HumanKind Helps journey.

Here, participants commit to 10–15 hours of weekly volunteer service, engage in case management, and attend life-skills workshops.

This stage is focused on building reliability, stability, and readiness for long-term housing.

Transitioning to Good Samaritan Village

The next step is Good Samaritan Village, where participants move into tiny homes for up to 18 months.

With increased independence, they commit to 10–18 hours of weekly service while completing required milestones like financial literacy, budgeting, and tenancy training.

Good Samaritan Village strengthens accountability and stability while participants continue working toward their ultimate housing goal.

Permanent Party Village – For U.S. Veterans

Veterans who come through the Homeward Bound program have a dedicated track into the Permanent Party Village, a tiny home community exclusively for U.S. Veterans.

Here, each veteran lives in their own tiny home while earning Mortgage Credit Hours until they qualify for deed transfer.

This approach honors their service by ensuring dignity, stability, and a permanent home.

A Clear Path to Homeownership

The Homeward Bound program, under the oversight of Do Good On Purpose, ensures that no one walks the journey alone.

From emergency shelter to transitional pods, from tiny home communities to full homeownership, each step is structured, supportive, and purpose-driven.

With every service hour completed and milestone achieved, participants move closer to receiving a deeded tiny home built by Permanent Party Homes—a lasting foundation for a new life.

How Your Readiness Is Proven

Demonstrated Progress: Show steady commitment by logging your Mortgage Credit Hours through approved volunteer service and actively participating in required trainings. Progress can also include steady employment or continued education that supports long-term stability.

Completion of Program Milestones: Reach the key benchmarks in your housing journey, such as completing financial literacy workshops, meeting savings goals, building tenancy skills, and personal development objectives. Each milestone moves you closer to eligibility for a deeded tiny home.

Readiness for Transition: Moving forward depends on more than available space—it requires showing consistent responsibility, readiness for greater independence, and a clear commitment to the program’s expectations.

Support Services Offered

The Starter Village, Good Samaritan Village and the Permanent Party Village provide a range of support services to assist you, including:
